Steel rims - tough but heavy

For some, steel rims are the only real kind of wheel for your truck. If they're not steel rims they're not tough and durable. This simply isn't true any more. With the advances in forged alloy rims, you can get some hot new alloys that stand up to the best of the steel rims.

If performance is what you're after, steel rims just won't cut it anymore when compared to aluminum wheels. The weight difference alone is what makes the alloy rims win out. Steel rims ad too much weight to your car, thus slowing it down.

In race between two equally powered vehicles, the one with the steel rims will have to be slower because it is heavier. Forged aluminum rims these days are super tough. They have very little flex and are awesome performers on both the road and track.

If you are a die hard truck fan and need tough steel rims that you don't mind getting banged and scratched, that's okay, but if you are looking for high performance rims, alloy is the way to go.
