Aug 4, 2004 By: Kevin Brown Widen your ride with wheel spacersWheel spacers fit between your wheel and your hub and effectively move the rim further out. This will have a widening effect of your cars footprint. Wheel spacers can be used when you have a custom wheel that will not fit on your vehicle too. Sometimes confused with wheel spacers, wheel adapters allow you to install custom rims with different lug configurations than what is on your car. For example, if your truck had five lugs and you wanted to buy a set of custom rims that had eight lugs, you could buy an adapter to accomplish this. Wheel spacers are used on all kinds of vehicles from street cars to race cars, they can even be used on ATVs. Many people want to widen the stance off their all terrain vehicle and will use wheel spacers to do it. This gives them a more stable ride. If you want to give your ride that cool wide stance and improve the handling, wheel spacers may be the way to go.
