Take care of your car wheels

Taking care or your car wheels will ensure years of enjoyment in such an investment. You pay a lot of money these days for your custom car wheels so why not take the extra time to care for them.

One of the hardest things on your car wheels is brake dust. This stuff will literally eat your rims away. Most alloy rim manufacturers apply a clear coat finish to help protect your car wheels but it alone is not enough.

When brake dust is left on your car wheels to accumulate and then gets wet, it turns acidic and will etch your rims. The best way to avoid this is to keep your car wheels clean and free of brake dust.

Cleaning your car wheels regularly is the best route to go. This way you can use a mild detergent and water to get most of the dirt and dust off. If left to accumulate, it is much more difficult to remove and you risk damaging your car wheels with harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths.

If you want to preserve the life of your car wheels, keep them clean and free of brake dust. Doing so will keep that polished chrome look for years to come.
